Account verification allows miners to change payout settings to increase, or decrease payout frequency. This gives miners more control over the total withdrawal fees paid to the pool, and thus, the transaction fees paid by the pool in order to pay miners. While we will generally try to keep withdrawal fees low, there may be times when the Bitcoin network transaction fees are abnormally high, which will unfortunately require us to raise the withdrawal fees until the transaction fees return to normal.
For verified accounts, if a wallet is lost, and has an unpaid balance, users can stop the automatic payouts and begin a process to have their BTC address changed. For unverified accounts, this will likely not be possible, and the funds could be permanently lost.
